WYC welcomes returning singers and new singers in January for the spring semester. Please contact Leigh for an audition time in the first few weeks of January.
Please join us for a delightful ninety minutes of sacred, secular and holiday music performed for you by the auditioned singers of the Wescustago Youth Chorale. We have 75 singers in grades 3-12 from over twelve area towns who have been learning and practicing choral music since mid-September. “A Wescustago Winter” will be performed on December 18, at 3 PM, at the Freeport Performing Arts Center, 30 Holbrook Street, Freeport. A reception will follow.
Come hear our three choirs perform various pieces, including but not limited to “Deck the Halls” in 7/8 time, “Ring the Bells,” “Bright Morning Stars,” “This Train,” Ubi Caritas,” and perennial favorite, “The Argument.” Several pieces are performed with the entire Chorale, which is a glorious sound.
Tickets will be sold at the door, starting at 2 PM. $10 per adult and $5 for students and seniors 65+. WYC Alumni are encouraged to return and are admitted free! FMI, email Leigh at WYC.email@example.com
Please join us in supporting the Runge Family of Yarmouth by attending the “Sacred Music Benefit Concert” at Sacred Heart Church, 326 Main Street in Yarmouth on November 20th. The Concert will start at 3 PM and last about 90 minutes.
Vox Nova, Sacred Heart Choir and the Wescustago Singers will be performing several pieces throughout the concert. Jen Runge is or has been involved with all three organizations.
Nat Runge was hospitalized at MMC and at Mass General for over a month while being treated for complications arising from his autoimmune disease which roared out of control in mid-September. Although Nat is back home recuperating now, and under the care of Maine doctors, bills continue to accrue and the family is working hard to get back to normal.
Donations will be gladly accepted at the door or you may contribute online at their GOFUND site (https://www.gofundme.com/2qq4sf7e).
Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick Maine will donate all sales proceeds to WYC on Oct.25th from 11 AM to 11 PM but you need to tell them you are supporting WYC. Be sure to mention to the cashier as you pay and she will credit our account.
If you want to be scooped by our own famous Celebrity Scoopers, Maya Egan and Arielle Leeman, come visit between 7 and 8 PM.
Gelato Fiasco is located at 74 Maine Street in Brunswick! Yum!

We are delighted to start off our new season with plenty of returning singers plus a wonderful group of new singers! We have passed out binders of new music and some old favorites and are looking forward to learning lots about music performance, choral singing, as well as various composers. We hope to teach our singers more solfege, sight singing, and rhythms. These are out Kennebec Singers at their first rehearsal this fall!
