New Singer Auditions

We will be holding group new singer auditions on June 4 and 6, 2012.  Younger singers are invited to come from 4-5 PM, and older singers are invited for 5-6 PM.  Please contact Lpalmer3@maine.rr.com, (Leigh Palmer, General Manager)  for an audition time.

Spring Concert — May 6th at 4 PM in Freeport

WYC invites you to join us for our spring concert on Sunday, May 6th at 4 PM at the Freeport Performing Arts Center.  Tickets are sold at the door, $10 adult and $5 for student.  Reception to follow.

Scrapbooking Crop Fundraiser, March 31st

 Bonnie Williams will be running this event at the Freeport Community Center in Freeport on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 9 until 5 PM.  Snacks and refreshments are provided, items for auction, and all are welcome!  Bonnie says that beginners are especially welcome!

Spaghetti Supper Serenade was a Success!

Many thanks for the support shown to our singers at the spaghetti supper.  From the group numbers to individual solos and duets, it was a delight.  For some singers, this was their first time performing for a full audience and each singers did such a fine job.  We heard original piano compositions, duets with mom, duets with dad, a violin piece and several solos.  Thank you to all our parent volunteers, to the singers who served the supper, and to the families who provided us with pies for dessert.  Proceeds from the supper fund our scholarship fund for student tuitions.

Looking ahead

We start rehearsals on January 9th for our spring concert, which will be on Sunday, May 6th at 4 PM. But before then, we will be singing the National Anthem at the Portland Pirates Hockey Game on January 27, 2012, and hosting our 14th annual Spaghetti Supper Serenade on March 3, 2012.

A Wescustago Winter

Please join us for our 14th Annual Winter Concert on December 10th, Saturday, at 3 PM.  The concert will take place at the Freeport Performing Arts Center, and a reception will follow the concert.  Tickets are available at the door — $10 adults, $5 students.  WYC Alumni are always free!

WYC sings for the Maine State Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”

WYC will again sing for “The Nutcracker” on the weekend of December 2-4th. Many of our singers will participate in several of the four performances.
